Similar to the "Freezer
Programs" on campus in years past, this management service is a convenient
way to have supplies on hand. The big difference is that we work with products
from any company - it's your choice. We do not provide products, and have no
preference for any vendor so we escape the "conflict of interest"
issues. These are the usual steps:
The inventory items can include chemicals, enzymes, markers, competent cells,
media, tissue culture reagents, gases, disposables - it's up to you. Vendors
can include NIH Stock, Sigma, Invitrogen, Roche Biochemicals, New England Biolabs,
Quality Biologicals, Amersham Pharmacia - it's up to you.
We can prepare orders for the NIH Purchasing staff, track the progress of the
orders through the system, and help out with the receiving after the products
arrive. Some orders are problematic - let us help you find alternatives, stay
on top of the issues and get what you want faster.
